Standing: 1968 Modern courthouse built on the site of the old 1879 structure.  Pierce, Norris & Pace were the architects.

Dr. Henry W. Baylor, Indian fighter, Ranger captain, and veteran of the Mexican War, was the namesake of this county, which was organized in 1879.
